This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the
engineering and design principles behind satellites, including the space environment, the
various systems and design requirements that go into building a satellite, and the different
technologies used in satellite communications. Additionally, students will learn about the use
of nanosatellites and the process of space mission analysis and design. The course also
covers topics related to space systems engineering and project management, as well as the
commercial applications of satellites.
On successful completion of this course, the students shall have a good understanding on
how satellites are engineered with knowledge on:
● The space environment and its effects on satellites
● Satellite platform systems and design requirements
● Satellite communications and emerging technologies
● Applications of nanosatellites
● Space mission analysis and design.
● Space systems engineering and project management;
● Commercial application
